Accepting Nominations for 2019-2020 Board

With a new fiscal year starting July 1, we are now accepting nominations for the 2019/2020 Board of Directors from Chapter Members. Please submit your nomination to Nominating Chair and Immediate Past President Doyle Graham, dgraham@ntta.org, by Monday, April 15, 2019.

Candidates must be members in good standing of the DFW Chapter of IFMA. We welcome self-nominations and nominations of others. Anyone nominating a candidate must secure the permission of the candidate before submitting their name for the ballot.

The following positions are eligible for nomination. All positions hold equal voting weight:

  • President

The President shall serve as Chairman of the Board; shall preside at all meetings; shall select the Chairs of special committees; shall ensure that the Chapter is represented at the annual House of Delegates Meeting through a delegate selection procedure in conformity with any policies adopted by the IFMA Board of Directors; shall be an ex-officio member of all committees (except the Nominations Committee); and shall sign all agreements and formal instruments. 

o One-year term with one year option followed by up to two years as Immediate Past President = Four-year commitment

o Must have previous Board and Committee Chair Experience

  • First Vice President (President Elect)

The First Vice President shall preside in the absence of the President and shall perform other duties as assigned by the President or by the Board of Directors. The First Vice President shall cosign agreements related to his/her chapter responsibilities. 

o One-year term with one year option followed by possible two years as President and another two years as Immediate Past President = Six-year commitment

o Previous Committee Chair experience required

  • Second Vice President

The Second Vice President shall perform duties as assigned by the President or by the Board of Directors, and cosign agreements related to his/her chapter responsibilities. 

o One-year term with unlimited renewals

o Committee Chair experience recommended

  • Treasurer

The Treasurer shall oversee the collection and receipt of Chapter monies and securities; and disburse same, subject to the direction of the Board of Directors; ensure that accurate books of account are kept; submit a report at Board of Directors' meetings; cosign all agreements and formal instruments, related to his/her chapter responsibilities, and submit a report of the Treasurer's office at an annual meeting of the Chapter. The Treasurer shall perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors. 

o One-year term with unlimited renewals

o Committee experience recommended

o Strong financial experience recommended

  • Secretary

The Secretary shall see that notice is sent at least 7 days in advance of all meetings of the Board of Directors and of the Chapter and shall keep accurate minutes thereof. The Secretary shall maintain a file of all correspondence; keep a roster of committees and task forces; forward requested material and information to the Association; cosign all agreements and formal instruments related to his/her chapter responsibilities and submit a report of the Secretary's office at an annual meeting of the Chapter. The Secretary shall perform other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

o One-year term with unlimited renewals

o Committee experience recommended

Nominations will CLOSE at Midnight on Monday, April 15th, 2019. The candidates for officers will be presented for a vote June 1st with the balloting closing by June 15th, 2019. Voting will be an on-line process. Once the results are in, the nominating committee will announce the elected officers.
